Girls Rock St. Pete exists to amplify the voices of girls, women, and gender-expansive youth through fearless expression, artistic experimentation, and collaboration. Our mission is to cultivate confidence and leadership through music and mentorship, empowering youth to embrace their individuality and make meaningful change in their communities. We believe in creating safe, affirming spaces where mistakes are part of the magic, and every creative voice is celebrated.
Why It Matters
By the age of 14, girls' confidence drops an average of 40%, largely due to harmful gender norms and societal pressures. In Pinellas County, nearly 1 in 4 teens have seriously considered suicide. These statistics aren’t just numbers — they’re a wake-up call. Girls Rock St. Pete addresses this crisis by providing a support system that fosters resilience, creativity, and positive identity development. Through risk-taking in a judgment-free space, youth learn to lift each other up and see themselves as powerful agents of change.
What We Do
Each summer during Power Week, campers ages 8–17 pick up instruments, form bands, and write their own original songs — all in just five days. They also dive into workshops on body positivity, self-care, social justice, and more, learning skills that extend far beyond the stage. At the end of the week, their songs are performed LIVE at Jannus Live in front of an audience of over 1,000 cheering fans. It’s high-voltage, heart-opening, and unforgettable — but it’s not just a music camp. It’s a movement.

Fundraising Goals
Scholarships – $8,000
Covers camp tuition for 22 youth to attend Power Week of Girls Rock St. Pete—five days of music instruction, band formation, songwriting, and a live show at Jannus Live.
Instruments & Gear – $12,500
Funding for new monitors, drum kits, mics, and cables, plus repairs for existing gear to keep lessons and performances going for 60 youth, 30 adults (about 20 bands) as well as other year round programming.
Youth Open Mic Series – $6,250
Supports our monthly, all-ages open mic events which are free and open to all genders, ages, and talents to cover sound crew stipends, art supplies, and new banners to keep this community program thriving.
