Our mission is to provide hands-on sewing education that sparks creativity, builds confidence, and encourages individuality in a welcoming, community-centered space. From first stitches to finished garments, students of all ages discover what they're capable of when given the tools and support to create.

Why It Matters
In a world that often values speed and sameness, sewing slows things down and makes space for personal style, intentional making, and self-discovery. For young people especially, the act of creating something from scratch — whether it’s a hoodie, a bag, or a full outfit — is deeply empowering. It teaches patience, problem-solving, and pride in one’s work. In our classes and camps, kids learn that mistakes are part of the process, and that there’s no one right way to be creative.

Sewing the Future
Our youth summer camps invite kids and teens in The Burg to explore fashion design from the ground up. Campers sketch, design, cut, and sew their own pieces — often walking away with full outfits they've made themselves. Along the way, they form friendships, grow their confidence, and learn valuable life skills. With guidance from local teaching artists, our young designers discover their voice — and show it off in community showcases like our annual fashion show.
